How your story stays yours

Information we collect

• Account information. Every player receives an account identifier so the service can assign a room seat and protect saved data. Email is optional and is used only for verification codes, sign-in, and save recovery.
• Adventure information. Display and hero names, character details, room membership, choices, progress, combat state, optional story responses, and completed-adventure keepsakes are stored so two devices can share and restore a game.
• Connection diagnostics. The service records the last successful room operation and may record a random event reference, account and room identifiers, the affected operation, a broad failure category, and a timestamp. Pair & Parry’s diagnostic reporter classifies errors on the device and does not send the raw error message.
• Device and service information. Session tokens and interface preferences are stored on your device. Our hosting, authentication, and email providers may process IP address, browser or device details, and request logs to deliver and secure their services.

What your partner can see

Your partner can see your display name, selected hero, public game status, and story information that the adventure reveals to both players. Private clues and unrevealed choices are withheld until the game says to share them. Completed shared-story text may appear in each player’s keepsake.

How we use and share information

We use this information to run and synchronize the adventure, restore saves, authenticate players, deliver requested verification codes, troubleshoot failed joins or reconnects, prevent abuse, and answer support requests.

Pair & Parry uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, and realtime coordination; Vercel for website hosting; and Resend to deliver optional sign-in emails. Apple may process information when it distributes the iOS app. These providers process information for their services under their own terms and privacy practices.

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Retention and deletion

Shared rooms are available for up to 24 hours, then deleted after a seven-day support window. A saved hero and backed-up keepsakes remain available after room expiration until you delete them or your account.

Delete my game data erases the current shared room, your saved hero, and your backed-up keepsakes. It closes that run for both players but does not delete your partner’s hero or their own keepsakes. It also leaves the guest or email sign-in identity available for future play.

Where Account & saves is available, Delete account removes your sign-in identity and associated game data and closes rooms you share. Your partner can retain their own hero and the fact that an adventure was completed, but associated shared personal story text is removed. Categorized connection diagnostics and room-recovery request records are deleted after 30 days. Rate-limit counters are deleted after one day.

An anonymous guest identity can be deleted automatically after 90 days of inactivity only when it has no current room, hero, backed-up keepsake, or recent operational record. Verified email accounts are not deleted by automated retention.

Service-provider security logs and backups may remain after an in-app deletion according to each provider’s retention practices. Offline exports, screenshots, and copies saved by either player are outside the service and are not removed by an in-app deletion.

Your choices

• You can play as a guest without supplying an email address.
• You can use a nickname and skip optional story responses.
• You can delete the current game or, when accounts are enabled, delete the full account from Account & saves.
• You can ask for help accessing or deleting data by emailing hello@pairandparry.com. Include the email attached to the account, if any, but never send a verification code, room code, or private clue.

Security

Pair & Parry uses encrypted network connections, authenticated room membership, server-side access rules, and device-secure storage for native session credentials. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use nicknames and avoid entering sensitive information into story fields.

Children

Pair & Parry is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Please do not submit information about children.
